All Points Ahead. Allen Rothenberg's Excellent Adventure.
May 15th. Allen's On His Way!!
Editor's Note: Allen W. Rothenberg, of Rockville, Maryland, took off this morning (5/15/04) on the flight of a lifetime.
He lifted away from Montgomery Airpark, Gaithersburg, MD at 9AM, EST in his 1948 Ercoupe, "Little Deuce Coupe," beginning a trip that will take him clockwise around the country, touching down at the airports located at the farthest edges. He flew away, as you will see, with the top down, waving to the crowd who saw him off.
The pictures that follow are the first in a series of reports as Allen makes his fabulous journey. He hopes to return to Gaithersburg around June 13th to celebrate his 75th birthday.
